TMR New Member Information

Thanks for your interest in the Texas Mountain Raiders! Our club is for all climbers and those who love the mountains. Our purpose is to provide contacts, plan trips, share knowledge, promote speakers and other events and to help preserve climbing as a recognized, recreational use of our public lands. TMR (as we often call ourselves) was formed in 1989 and sports a diversity of friendly climbers, old and young, experienced and novice with interests in gym climbing to expedition mountaineering and everything in between.

The club meets monthly and coordinated numerous climbing trips each year usually to Enchanted Rock unless a more substantial trip has been planned. As a member, you can stay in the club campsite often even on short notice. Members are also able to check-out an assortment of climbing books and videos that the club maintains in its library. The club has designated climbing nights at the Texas Rock Gyms on Tuesday night. Club members often take additional day trips to climb in the Austin hill country area as well.

Annual membership dues are $20 for an individual and $30 for a couple. These funds cover expenses for Enchanted Rock camping fees, library upkeep, annual party, the web site and various supplies the club needs from time to time. The club also makes annual donations to the Access Fund and Enchanted Rock and is a strong supporter of the Central Texas Climbing Committee and the American Alpine Club. All major expenses are voted on by club members and all members are encouraged to take an active role in the club itself.

How to Join

 Joining TMR is simple, just follow these steps:

• Print out a membership application form as found below. For a joint application, you will need to print two copies of the waiver and medial consent forms but you only need one application.
• Complete the forms in their entirety.
• Determine how you wish to pay your membership dues which can be made by check or by making a cash (no credit cards) PayPal payment to TMRTreasurer@HoustonClimbing.com. Membership payment checks should be made to Texas Mountain Raiders.
• Return the completed application with applicable check to a club officer, this can be done at a club function or by mailing to:
