Position Descriptions

President: Works with other officers to organize the club and set the yearly event schedule. Runs the club functions and is the communication focal point for the club to outside organizations.

Vice President: Runs club functions if the president is absent. Responsible for organizing and running raffles.

Local Trip Coordinator: Coordinates E-rock club climbs. Assures adequate space is available at camp sites. Makes recommendations to officers on plans for future trips. Books camp sites for local trips.

Mountaineering Coordinator: Promote mountaineering within TMR, help others build mountaineering contacts.

Webmaster: Maintains the TMR portion of the HoustonClimbing web site. Also responsible to solicit input for the TMR web site.

Road Trip Coordinator: Responsible for coordinating TMR road trips to any where outside of Houston.

UH Climbing Coordinator: Responsible for answering questions on weekly club climbs nights (Wednesday) at the U of H climbing wall.

TRG Climbing Coordinator: Responsible for answering questions on weekly club climbs nights (Tuesdays) at the Texas Rock Gym.

Stone Moves Climbing Coordinator: Responsible for answering questions on weekly club climbs nights (Fridays) at the Stone Moves Rock Gym.

Officer at Large #1: Position varies as needed to help with club functions.

Officer at Large #2: Position varies as needed to help with club functions.

 

Being an Officer

All club members are encouraged to consider the opportunity that being a club officer has to offer, these opportunities vary with the different positions and based on ones personal interests. Becoming a club officer is the best way to help the club and a great way to build your involvement in the world-wide climbing network. Along with fulfilling the roll of the held position, officers converse to help set the direction of the club.
